James Addison Palmer III was born in Savannah, Georgia in
August of 1970. Addison has spent most of his life on the coast
of South Carolina ( Hilton Head Island )
From an early age,Addison has been drawing and painting the
world around him. Addison comes from a strong artistic
background. His great grandfather ( Harry Palmer ) was a pen
and ink artist in New York. He created and developed animation
and short films plus portraits for publications around the world.
His father ( Jim Palmer ) is a long time renowned landscape
Addison graduated high school from Hilton Head High in 1989.
He had a full scholarship to attend the Chicago Institute for the
Arts,etc. He choose Brevard College, due to their strong art,
academic and running programs. He attended Brevard College
on a full scholarship.
For many years,Addison was a competitive runner. Trying to
make the 1996 Olympic team,he had an Olympic standard time
in the marathon  
Addison moved to St. Simons Island, Georgia where he opened
up his own gallery / studio in 1995. Since the age of
thirteen,Addison has been painting full time,doing commissions,
shows, and work for galleries. From day one, he has painted the
world around him in his landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and
portraits. His work has many private and business collectors in
the U. S. A. and around the world.
Along with his painting,Addison is asked to teach painting
workshops throughout the eastern United States. Since 1997 he
has been invited to teach painting classes and to demonstrate
his work on world cruises. Cruise lines like Cunard,Seabourn and
many more.
Addison has won and has been honored with his paintings and
his support with numerous organizations and fundraisers.
Addison was asked to show a painting of his in the internationally
known " Birds in Art " show, in 2018. Only ninety artist total ( 2D
and 3D ) from around the world were part of the show.
You can find Addison's original artwork at the Red Piano Art
Gallery in Bluffton, South Carolina,The Sheldon Fine Art Gallery
in Naples, Florida and in Newport RI. The Spa Fine art Gallery in
Saratoga Springs, New York. His studio on St. Simons
Island,Georgia, and his studio in Winston Salem,N.C.
